Class DY bullion van

In 1902 a single DY class four wheeled bullion van was built numbered 5893. In appearance it was essentially a small carriage 17'-0" long and was similar in style to the later bogie VY class bullion van number 4999.  I suspect that it was rather rough riding and uncomfortable - hence the production of the bogie VY only 6 years after DY5893.

In 1920 it was converted into a BB class horsebox.
