This class of 116 wagons was built between 1943 and 1945 at Midland workshops. They took random numbers from written off wagons. From 1963 cane support brackets were fitted to the sides. Apart from accident victims the class survived largely intact until the late 1970's although they were never numerous compared to other classes such as the GC, GE and GM wagons. |
