Class HB low-sided wagons

HB3965 - WAGR official photo taken around the 1940s (RHWA collection)

In 1926 class HB was produced by the conversion of a number of J class tankers and G class open wagons. They were intended for transporting harvesters and although they used the standard N.Z.R. type underframe the bodies were 8'-0" wide compared to the 6'-10" of a standard H class wagon. Eventually the class totalled seventy-seven wagons.
