Class WWA Wheat Hoppers

The W.A.G.R.'s second class of standard gauge wheat hoppers were WWA 32301 - 32361. Although weighing about the same fully loaded as the earlier WW class (93.75 tons), they were almost 8 feet longer giving a load increase of five and a half tons. This was due to the use of aluminium rather than steel for the body.

They were built in two batches. WWA 32301 -32340 in 1969 with the remainder in 1977 (32341-32352) and 1978 (32359-32361). 32301 was written of in 1977 (presumably due to accident damage).  The rest of the class was still intact in June 2010 but had been reclassified AGAY by then.  In 2014 the AGAYs were sold by Aurizon to WATCO.
