In 1971 a new class of tankers was built to convey caustic soda for the alumina industry. They were the second class to use the JK code. Production has continued in small batches for forty years as follows:

1976	9909-9911 built
1981	9937-9942 built
1982	9950-9956 built for Worsley alumina
1991	9912, 9957-9960 built
1999?	9961-9965 built?
2011	9966-9969 built Gemco
