Class NF flat wagons, NFB bolster wagon and NFC cement wagons

The NF class was the standard post war flat wagon built on the 18'-0" underframe. A total of 56 were built In 1953 22871-22885 entered service followed by 22851-22870 in 1956. The WAGR outline diagram for the NF is shown below.

Further construction was by conversion from other classes as follows:

In 1956 a group of 9 wagons were converted to carry cement containers (22851, 22854, 22855, 22867, 22869, 22872, 22875, 22878, 22884) and reclassified NFC. In 1961 they were all converted back to NF standard. The WAGR outline diagram for the NFC is shown below.

The final conversion was 22880 which in 1974 became a bolster wagon coded NFB. It was unique and was finally written off in 1986.

Number 22882 was presumably an accident victim but most of the rest survived until the end of general goods traffic on the W.A.G.R.
