In 1975 a total of five QRC class wagons (790, 11223, 11261, 11265, 11290) were converted to allow them to carry end-tipping nitrate containers. In 1980 11261 was written off followed by 11290 in 1990 and the remaining three wagons (791, 11223, 11265) in 1993.
