This class of fifty-two wagons shows the increasing influence of American design practices on WAGR wagon design. They were introduced into traffic in 1963 (25001-5, 25007-20), 1964 (25006) and 1966 (25021-25052). When first built they were painted black. |
The class remained intact until 1981 when 25013 was converted to class QUW. It was followed by 9 more wagons in 1983. In 1985 four wagons were converted to class QUG followed by another five in 1986. In 1996 the remainder were written off. |
