Class RBT wooden bodied open wagons |
The body condition of many of the all steel RB class open wagons was becoming poor by the late 1950's and so in 1959/60 a group of 49 wagons were rebuilt with new timber bodies and reclassified RBT. The arrangement of the doors was different on the RBT's compared with the wooden RB's. |

Number 11297 was written off in 1963 and in 1968 a single wagon from this class (11183) was converted into class RBC bulk cement wagon. Further two wagons (715, 776) were converted to class QRC flat wagons in 1971. Some of the remaining wagons were reclassified RB for reasons that are now unclear as these wagons retained their RBT type bodies. The final disposal of the remaining wagons is as follows: |
