In 1920 a new class of 33'-0" long bogie sheep wagon roughly the equivalent of two CX class four wheels made its appearance as S10087.

It was then reclassified SA and finally SX before any more were built. In 1923 numbers 10088-10091 and 10229-10238 were built with 10092-10096 being added in 1924.

Two of these new wagons (10234, 10235) were sent to the isolated railway at Port Hedland. SX 10235 was converted into a unique U class wagon at Port Hedland in 1933. Neither of the Port Hedland wagons returned to the main system and they passed out of W.A.G.R. stock in 1951 when the line closed.

1933 10235 to U at Port Hedland
