Class FC louvred meat vans

The 17'-0" FA class steel louvre vans were re-built at some point with new wooden bodies. In 1936 ten of these vans were fitted with meat hooks and reclassified FC. A total of fifteen vans of this type was eventually reached.
The picture at right is an enlargement of a Fretwell collection image showing an FA or FC at Boddalin in November 1928.

The WAGR outline diagram used for both the wooden bodied 17' FA and the FC is shown below.

By 1960 they had all gone - presumably because they were superseded by the FDMs.
